Program for pilots scheduled to air this fall

This fall, aviation enthusiasts will have the chance to hear stories from those who share their passion. A program called The Aviators will air on PBS and is expected to help garner more interest in the industry.
In fact, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association will be having the program's producers take part in their AOPA live programming.
AOPA president and CEO Craig Fuller says the program will have the capacity to reach a broad audience.
"Pilots always enjoy sharing their love of flying with everyone they meet," says Fuller. "The Aviators takes that individual passion and shares it with, potentially, hundreds of thousands of people at a time."
The television program isn't the only way pilots can learn of others' travels. Earlier this month, Thomas Lee Bangard published his memoir, which also features descriptions of his flights and passion for flying.
Some pilots have such frightening experiences, it can be easy to see why life insurance for pilots can be so important. All it takes his hitting a bad patch of weather to turn a seemingly peaceful flight into a potentially dangerous one.
