Beware of water contamination

Pilots of the Cessna Model 100, 200, or 300 will likely want to pay extra attention when they go through their checklist of safety procedures before takeoff. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a safety warning advising pilots to check their fuel tanks for water contamination.
In a bulletin released by the FAA, they note that safety problems from other Cessna models caused them to review the mentioned series and issue the advisory.
The FAA offers several recommendations for pilots to help make their flight a safe one. One suggestion is to make sure the tank has drain valves.
"There is no single point of drainage that can be used to check for all fuel system contaminants simultaneously," the bulletin states. "Take the time to properly check all drain locations, all of the time."
It's wise for pilots to take their time when going through a safety checklist to ensure everything on their aircraft is in proper working order. Special safety bulletins, like those issued by the FAA, can also help alert pilots to potential safety hazards they may encounter.
