Most of the East Coast has been pummeled with snow and ice, making for unsafe flying conditions.
A number of airports across the region have cancelled or severely delayed many flights. The poor weather conditions come at a time when many people are taking to the skies for winter break vacations and holiday travel.
In addition to inclement weather, the aviation industry still has to stay on top of security issues. The Association of Flight Attendants recently voiced the importance of the work they do to help keep passengers and other workers safe.
"As the last line of defense, professional flight attendants are a vital link in the chain of commercial aviation security," says AFA International president Veda shook. "We are an integral part of a crew that works in concert for the security of each flight."
Even with top-notch security and weather monitoring devices, it's still important to have pilot insurance. Safeguards have come along way in making fling less hazardous, however dangers still exist. Having coverage can help provide financial security should a serious accident take place.
