Aviation fans can get their fix at museums nationwide

Aviation enthusiasts don't have to rely on the Experimental Aircraft Association's yearly AirVenture show to get their airplane fix. There are many places pilots and aviation lovers can go year-round.
Travel website TripAdvisor recently announced its top 10 list of aviation attractions, determined by its own flight experts and traveler ratings. Topping the list this year is the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in the nation's capitol. The museum is a must-see for those interested in viewing a large collection of historic aircraft. TripAdvisor quotes one traveler as saying "this place is truly incredible and not to be missed."
Those looking to soak up the sun while on vacation can also sneak in some aviation history at the Pacific Aviation Museum in Hawaii. Coming in at number eight on the list, the museum features hangars from the attack on Pearl Harbor. TripAdvisor quotes a traveler as writing, "if you are an aviation buff, this is a can't miss if you are visiting the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial."
There are numerous other destinations aviation fans can visit across the country. From the East Coast to the West, there are aircraft museums that can be fit into one's plans.
