Lower gas prices expected for aviation industry

March 15, 2013, 11:08 am

Gas prices have increased significantly across the country whether you're filling up at a gas station or paying for aviation fuel. Despite the recent climb, Americans can expect to see decreases in prices over the next year.

The country is becoming a net energy exporter, which is resulting in increased U.S. reserves and will lead to lower prices for gas.

Considering the current state of the oil field technology, the country has made significant advancements to become more dependent on clean energy, leading to positive news being reported from the industry, such as a higher rate of activity at airports in the leading shale oil fields.

Airports are also reaping the benefits of being located above shale fields. One of them is the Pittsburgh International Airport, which just signed an agreement with Consol Energy that could be worth up to $500 million over the next two decades.

With the airline industry expecting to see vast improvements over the next 20 years, those training to be pilots should also consider securing pilot insurance to provide a sense of comfort for themselves and their families if things ever go wrong while they are flying.
