Two new airplane hangars built at Butler County Regional Airport in Hamilton, Ohio, will hopefully bring a sense of stability to the Hogan Flying Service company. They will offer more space for independent pilots and expanding the services available to student pilots, according to the Middletown Journal.
The two hangars, which took a little over a year to build and cost about $300,000, according to the news source, will allow Hogan to stock more planes, making the company a fully-operational flight school. Additionally, it will give pilots a place out of the weather to perform pre-flight checks and maintenance, as well as space to perform more extensive renovations on vintage aircraft.
"With the hangars, they’ll be able to do all the preflight inside, pull it out and away they’ll go," flight instructor Tim Spitzig told the news source. "[Pilots] would rather see more of a fixed-base type operator with a fixed location."
Many pilot organizations offer their members a number of perks and services. In some cases, membership may offer an aviator discounted rates on term life insurance for pilots, which carries coverage that many standard life insurance policies may not provide.
