AOPA Summit in Hartford a success

The recent Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association's annual Aviation Summit drew more than 7,000 attendees to Hartford, Connecticut, for a weekend of seminars, product announcements and other pilot interest events, according to the AOPA.
Though the weather was not ideal, many attendees braved the rain to attend Airportfest, which featured 50 display aircraft from manufacturers like Bristell and Cessna and models from basic single engine prop planes to state-of-the-art light jets.
Entertainment was provided throughout the event weekend at dinners, concerts and at the New England Air Museum, which hosted the closing dinner amid the exhibits, which include the massive Boeing B-29 Superfortress, a World War II era high-altitude bomber.
"The crowd was enthusiastic and ready to explore all things general aviation," said AOPA President Craig Fuller. "We had a tremendous array of aircraft and exhibitors, great speakers for our keynotes and seminars, and lots of fun and camaraderie at social events."
One of the advantages of membership to a pilot organization like the AOPA is the advice one gets from experienced pilots. Many aviators choose to take out special life insurance for pilots, as standard life insurance policies often don't provide the level of specific coverage that pilots need to insure their unique lifestyle.
