The Kansas skies will be a bit busier than usual this weekend. The National Association of State Aviation Officials are scheduled to have their annual trade show and convention this weekend in Wichita.
This year's meeting, "Aviation 2020 and Beyond, A clear Vision for the Future," aims to tackle the difficult topics of safety, industry growth, alternative fuels and customer demands.
Federal Aviation Administration senior vice president of NextGen Vicki Cox is scheduled to speak at the event. NASAO president Henry Ogrodzinski says those who take part in the show will gain valuable insights from hearing Cox speak.
"As the most senior person within FAA, with the sole responsibility for the development and deployment of NextGen technology, Ms. Cox will be able to explain where the transition to NextGen stands today and where we are going to tomorrow," says Ogrodzinski.
Cox is leading the challenging job of bringing up-to-date technologies to the aviation andmeeting the industry's new demands.
Transportation Security Administration general manager of general aviation Brian Delauter is also scheduled to speak at the event. Delauter will discuss security issues with attendees.
