Some jobs are more hazardous than others. Even those who consistently engage in safety practices may want to consider purchasing life insurance if they work in a dangerous environment.
Data released by the U.S. Department of Labor reveals that more than 4,000 people were fatally injured while at work last year. While the number of occupational deaths decreased between 2008 and 2009, the department says economic factors may be at play. Given the tough economy, a large number of people have not logged in as many hours in previous years.
People employed in the aviation industry in particular may want to consider purchasing life insurance. Aircraft pilots and engineers have one of the higher occupational fatality rates in comparison to other professions.
Some people put off purchasing life insurance because they think coverage is too expensive, especially under current economic conditions. However, it's during strained financial times that life insurance can be the most beneficial should something happen to the policy holder. People can find affordable life insurance by looking online and consulting a professional.
