Aviation fans who can't seem to find enough information about unmanned aircraft are in luck. Pilots and aircraft enthusiasts alike will find more coverage of their passion on Aviation Week's new web channel.
The unmanned vehicles and technologies section features videos and pictures. Readers can try to stump experienced professionals with the "Ask the Experts" section. According to Aviation Week, the remote aircraft business is experiencing major growth.
Aviation Week's Defense Technology International publisher Greg Hamilton says the company aims to use it's resources to cover the growing market segment.
"Aviation Week is dedicated to thoroughly covering rapidly evolving technologies and capabilities in the defense industry," said Hamilton. "Unmanned systems represent one of the most exciting areas of high-tech defense development and global market growth, and our multimedia defense portfolio is perfectly positioned to provide leadership coverage."
The value of unmanned aircraft shouldn't go unnoticed. Such aircraft can be utilized in several ways. Last year, for example, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration used unmanned aircraft to help scientists further their knowledge of Alaskan ice seals.
