Many pilots are passionate about the work they do, and strive hard to achieve success in their field. At its 63rd Annual Meeting and Convention, the National Business Aviation Association will recognize six "business aviation legends."
The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Certificates from the Federal Aviation Administration go to those who "have demonstrated professionalism, skill and aviation expertise by maintaining safe operations for 50 or more years," according to the FAA's website
The recipients are Neil Armstrong, Gene Cernan, Bob Hoover, Clay Lacy, Russ Meyeer and Arnold Palmer. NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen says the pilots have made outstanding contributions.
"Our congratulations to these individuals on this well-deserved recognition," says Bolen. "Each of these distinguished figures has made indelible contributions to business aviation, and we are delighted that they will stand together and be recognized for reaching a milestone in flightas part of our convention."
In addition to recognizing the aforementioned aviators, aviation's contributions to the relief efforts in Haiti will also be recognized at the NBAA event. Business aircraft have helped transport 3,500 people, says the NBAA.
