Pilots know the importance of fixed-base operators. The facilities offering gas, services and sometimes courtesy cars can be a real asset for an airport. Recently, Sugar Land Regional Airport in Texas announced the re-branding of its FBO as Global Select. The facility is equipped with concierge-style customer service and gourmet catering, along with complimentary coffee and newspapers. The amenities and services offered at Global Select are designed to set it apart from other properties. Sugar Land Regional Airport director of aviation Phillip Savko says the FBO is out to set a high level of quality standards. "Typically, FBOs that are run by municipalities have an unfavorable reputation," says Savko. "Global Select's new facility and top-notch amenities set it apart. This new campaign will help us spread awareness throughout the industry." There are a number of resources pilots can turn to when looking for the best fuel prices and resources at FBOs. GlobalAir.com receives information from more than 2,000 centers. Recently, the website added a new tab to highlight all the services available at a particular airfield.
